Ideal storage conditions for 3D printing filaments:
Proper storage is crucial to maintaining the quality and performance of 3D printing filaments in the long term. Many filaments - especially hygroscopic materials such as PLA, PETG, nylon or TPU - easily absorb moisture from the air. This can lead to printing problems such as bubbling, stringing or brittle printing results.

Recommended storage conditions:
- Dry environment: Filaments should always be stored in a dry, dust-free environment. A relative humidity of less than 20 % is ideal.
- Airtight storage: The spools are best stored in airtight bags or boxes, together with desiccant packets to bind residual moisture.
- Stable temperature: Storage at room temperature between 15 - 25 °C is recommended. Direct sunlight and heat sources should be avoided.
- Labelling and organization: Filaments should remain in the original packaging if possible or be clearly labelled to clearly distinguish material types and colors.

Note:
If a filament has absorbed moisture, it can be restored to optimum condition by drying it - for example in a filament dryer or an oven at a low temperature. Proper storage ensures consistent print quality, clean surfaces and reliable results with every printing process.
